Quotations are tailored to your setup. No obligation.
Our approach
Muqatel Networks provides the voice layer businesses build on: connectivity for the phone system you already run, a hosted phone system if you would rather not run one, and numbers that put you within reach of your customers.
- 01
Works with what you have
If you already run an IP PBX, we connect it rather than ask you to replace it.
- 02
Configured, not packaged
Channels, numbers and features are set by your requirements, not a fixed bundle.
- 03
Built for business calling
Inbound lines, outbound calling, queues and routing for teams that live on the phone.
- 04
Room to change
Start with one service, add another later, or move between them as you grow.
Three core services
One provider for the way your business calls.
Use one service on its own or combine them. Each is configured around your existing equipment, your team and the places you need to reach.
- For the PBX you already run
SIP Trunking
Connect an existing IP PBX to the public telephone network for inbound and outbound calls.
Explore SIP Trunking - A phone system you do not maintain
Cloud PBX
Use a hosted business phone system with extensions, IVR, call queues, voicemail and centralised management.
Explore Cloud PBX - Be reachable where customers are
Virtual Numbers
Obtain local, national and toll-free numbers, subject to availability, and route calls to a compatible PBX or cloud phone system.

How the services work together
Start from where you are today.
The best configuration depends on your requirements, your existing equipment and the destinations you need to cover. These are the most common starting points.
-
1 You already run an IP PBX
Start with SIP TrunkingConnects the phone system you operate today to the public telephone network.
Consider addingVirtual Numbers for new local, national or toll-free numbers routed to it.
-
2 You'd rather not run a PBX
Start with Cloud PBXA hosted phone system: extensions, menus, queues and voicemail, managed online.
Consider addingVirtual Numbers for numbers in the places your customers call from.
-
3 You need presence in other markets
Consider addingCloud PBX or SIP Trunking depending on whether you run your own PBX.
Not sure which applies? Tell us about your setup and we will recommend a starting point.
SIP Trunking
Your PBX, connected to the telephone network.
A SIP trunk links your IP PBX to the public telephone network over an IP connection. Your PBX keeps doing what it does today (extensions, menus, routing) while inbound and outbound calls travel over SIP instead of traditional phone lines.
- Inbound calls to your numbers, delivered to your PBX
- Outbound calls from your PBX to ordinary phone numbers
- Capacity set by concurrent calls, so it can grow with you
- Can reduce reliance on traditional phone lines, depending on your setup
Questions to answer before you connect
A good SIP trunk depends on getting these right. We work through them with you.
- Concurrent calls
- How many calls happen at once at your busiest time? This sets the number of channels.
- Codecs
- Which voice codecs does your PBX support? G.711 is common; others depend on the platform.
- Security
- Is signalling and media encryption (TLS and SRTP) required, and does your PBX support it?
- Number presentation
- Which caller ID should outbound calls show, and is it permitted on the destinations you call?
- Network
- Will your firewall and router pass SIP and voice traffic cleanly, without SIP ALG interference?
Cloud PBX
A complete phone system, without the hardware.
Cloud PBX hosts call control for you. Set up extensions, menus and routing online, and let your team work from desk phones, computers or mobiles, in one office or many.
-
Extensions and users
An extension per person or device, managed from one place.
-
IVR menus
"Press 1 for sales" menus that send callers to the right team.
-
Call routing
Rules that decide where each call goes, and what happens if no one answers.
-
Ring groups and queues
Ring several people at once, or hold callers in order until someone is free.
-
Voicemail
Per-user and shared mailboxes for calls that cannot be answered.
-
Business hours
Different routing for open hours, after hours and holidays.
-
Remote teams
Use your extension from the office, from home or on a mobile.
-
Central management
Change users, menus and routing online, without a technician on site.
Depends on your package
Availability, integrations, redundancy and security controls are confirmed with your quotation.
Virtual Numbers
Numbers that reach your team, wherever it sits.
A virtual number is not tied to a physical line. Calls are routed to the phone system you choose (a Muqatel Cloud PBX or your own PBX over a SIP trunk) and from there to a menu, a queue or a person.
-
Local
A geographic number with a city or area code.
Typical use A local presence in a market without an office there.
-
National
A non-geographic number, where the country offers one.
Typical use A single nationwide contact number.
-
Toll-free
Free for callers in that country, where available.
Typical use Sales and support lines that invite calls.
Availability varies. Number types, eligibility and documentation differ by country, and some numbers need proof of a local address or business registration. Porting of existing numbers is possible where supported.
Explore Virtual NumbersWho we serve
For teams whose business runs on calls.
Different organisations start in different places. Here is where each one usually begins.
- 01
Small and medium-sized businesses
A professional phone setup without running telephony hardware. Cloud PBX gives a small team the routing, menus and voicemail of a much larger one.
Often starts with Cloud PBX
- 02
Contact centres
Inbound numbers, queues and enough concurrent capacity for busy periods, connected to the platform your agents already use.
Often starts with SIP Trunking and Virtual Numbers
- 03
Distributed and remote teams
One phone system across offices, homes and mobiles, so a call can reach the right person wherever they are working.
Often starts with Cloud PBX
- 04
Businesses with existing PBX equipment
Keep the IP PBX you have invested in and replace its traditional lines with a SIP connection.
Often starts with SIP Trunking
- 05
Organisations expanding into new markets
Local or toll-free numbers in supported countries, answered by your existing team before you open an office.
Often starts with Virtual Numbers
Getting started
Three steps to a working voice setup.
Timelines depend on the service, any number porting and your own equipment, so we agree them with you rather than promise a fixed date.
-
Step 1: Discuss your requirements
Tell us about your current phone system, your team, where you call and where you need to be reachable.
-
Step 2: Identify a suitable setup
We recommend a service or combination, with the channels, numbers and features it needs, and prepare a quotation.
-
Step 3: Configure and prepare for deployment
Once agreed, we configure the service, provide connection details and work with you through testing before go-live.
What we confirm before you commit
- Compatibility Whether your PBX, devices and network will work with the service.
- Capacity Channels and users sized to your real call volumes.
- Coverage Which numbers and destinations are available where you need them.
- Cost A written quotation, with any minimum terms, before you commit.
Questions
Frequently asked questions.
Straight answers about how the services work. If your question is not here, ask us directly.
What is SIP trunking?
SIP trunking connects a business phone system (an IP PBX) to the public telephone network over an IP connection instead of traditional phone lines. SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) sets up, manages and ends calls; the voice itself travels as a separate media stream, usually RTP.
With a SIP trunk in place, your PBX can place outbound calls to ordinary phone numbers and receive inbound calls on the numbers assigned to it.
Can I connect my existing IP PBX?
In many cases, yes. Most current IP PBX platforms support SIP trunks, but compatibility depends on the specific system, its software version, the codecs it supports and how your network is set up.
Tell us which PBX you use and how it is deployed. We will confirm whether it can be connected and what configuration it needs before anything is agreed.
What is the difference between Cloud PBX and SIP trunking?
SIP trunking supplies the connection between a phone system you already run and the telephone network. You keep managing the PBX itself.
Cloud PBX is the phone system, hosted for you. Extensions, call routing, IVR menus, queues and voicemail are configured online, and staff use desk phones, softphones or apps without an on-site PBX to maintain.
If you have a PBX you want to keep, SIP trunking is usually the starting point. If you would rather not run one, Cloud PBX is usually the better fit.
What are virtual numbers?
A virtual number is a phone number that is not tied to a physical line at a specific location. Calls to it are routed over the network to a destination you choose, such as a cloud PBX, an IP PBX connected by SIP trunk, or a particular team or queue.
Depending on availability, virtual numbers can be local (geographic), national (non-geographic) or toll-free.
Can I combine more than one service?
Yes. The services are designed to work together. A common pattern is virtual numbers routed to either a cloud PBX or an existing PBX connected by SIP trunk. Some organisations use Cloud PBX for most teams and a SIP trunk for a site that keeps its own PBX.
The right combination depends on your existing equipment, your team and the destinations you need to cover. We will recommend a configuration once we understand your requirements.
Which countries can I get numbers in?
Availability varies by country, by number type and over time. Some countries offer local, national and toll-free numbers; others offer only some of these. Many regulators also require proof of address or business registration before a number can be assigned.
Tell us the countries and number types you need, and we will confirm what is currently available and what documentation each one requires. We do not list coverage on the website because it changes.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the service, the number of users or concurrent calls, the destinations you call, and the numbers you need. We prepare a quotation after discussing your requirements, so you only pay for a setup that suits you.
Contact our team for a quotation. Prices and any minimum terms will be set out in writing before you commit.
What do I need technically to get started?
For any of the services you need a stable internet connection with enough bandwidth for your expected number of simultaneous calls, and a network that does not interfere with SIP or voice traffic. Some routers apply a feature called SIP ALG that can disrupt calls and may need to be disabled.
For SIP trunking you also need a compatible IP PBX. For Cloud PBX you need supported devices: IP desk phones, softphones on computers, or mobile apps, depending on the package. We will go through the specifics for your setup.
Can I keep my existing phone numbers?
Often, yes, through a process called number porting, where your current numbers are transferred from your existing provider. Whether a number can be ported depends on the country, the number type and the providers involved, and the process usually needs an authorisation form and matching account details.
Porting timelines are set by the providers and regulators involved, so we confirm them case by case rather than promising a fixed date.
How do I contact the sales team?
Use the inquiry form on our Contact page. Tell us about your current phone system, the size of your team, the countries you need to call or be reachable in, and anything you already know you need. Our team will reply to discuss next steps.
